I've been working on a project lately that includes some electronics. This has required a lot of prototyping on the breadboard with various cables coming to and from the breadboard. The lightweight breadboard sort of gets pulled around by the various cables making it frustrating to work with. So I decided to build a heavy wooden base for it out of some left over hickory wood. I CNC milled a recess for the breadboard to set in and long narrow recesses around the perimeter to act as parts trays.
Here's the CNC as it begins to hog out the main recess for the breadboard:
And the finished product. It works very nicely!
